Why did you become a veterinarian?
I knew I wanted to be a veterinarian since I could talk. I’ve always had a strong passion for the care of animals, taking home all of the critters I found around the neighborhood. As I grew older, science always fascinated me and I realized it could make a large impact on people and their pets. Veterinary medicine was the only path for me.
What is the goal with every patient visit?
The goal with every visit is to educate the owners so they can make the best, educated decisions for their pets. We go through years of training to recognize and understand animal behavior/pain and the complexities of their diseases, but the first steps start with the owners at home. It’s my goal to be the pet’s voice and make sure owners feel comfortable knowing they’re doing what’s best for them.
Who makes up your family?
My family is made up of my wonderful husband, Bryan, our two dogs, Mocha and Kona, and our cat named Kahlua. We also have a reef tank with some saltwater fish that we enjoy.
