Looking for Love in All the Right Places!

Join the Love on Leashes Pet Team for APEX Hospice & Palliative Care today!

APEX Hospice and Palliative Care is currently seeking friendly, well-mannered and calm dogs, of all shapes and sizes (and their people!) to join our Love on Leashes Pet Team!

These special volunteers are needed to provide a little companionship, comfort, and even some wet kisses to our terminally ill patients and their families. YOU are needed to help them do it!

Patients yearn for dog companionship. Benefits of dogs in hospice are numerous. Many stories about their own pets are shared with volunteers. A friendly kiss from a Love on Leashes dog can be very therapeutic! Anxiety may be relieved and pain can be redirected – all with a short canine visit.

Requirements Prior to Visiting Patients:

Dogs must be certified through Delta Society Pet Partners or Therapy Dog International
All volunteer pets must be interviewed by our staff, > – All volunteer pets must have appropriate documentation processed with both the certifying organization and ours
Volunteers/handlers must be 18 years or older
Volunteers/handlers must complete our Medicare-approved volunteer training which can be completed in easy, self-study modules with personal assistance from our experienced staff.
Volunteers are non-medical companions and do not feed, transfer, transport, provide personal care, give medications or offer medical care/advice.

Opportunities are flexible and based on your own personal schedule, level of commitment, and travel boundaries.

Pamper your dog by sharing the love. Join Love on Leashes today!
